Weekly music classes for children aged 0–3 and their parent or caregiver
Join your child in discovering the wonders of music, movement, storytelling and community. You’ll sing, dance, and play simple musical instruments, while supporting your child’s growth in musical, motor, cognitive, and social development.
Based on Dr. Shinichi Suzuki’s belief that “Every child can learn,” this method has been used for more than 80 years to nurture children at a very early age all over the world. The curriculum fosters not only musical ability but also curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Parents and caregivers are active participants, sharing in their child’s joy and progress.
These classes are based on the international Suzuki Early Childhood Education (SECE) program, inspired by the philosophy of Shinichi Suzuki.
Classes include a variety of musical and playful activities - gentle, simple, and adapted even for very young babies:
Singing and nursery rhymes
Playing simple percussion instruments
Listening to beautiful music
Story time and movement games
Dancing, marching, and exploring rhythm and pitch
The curriculum rotates through familiar songs and activities, which are also listened to at home, helping children develop mastery through repetition, imitation, and joyful discovery.
Motor skills - coordination, balance, fine and gross movement
Social skills - empathy, sharing, taking turns
Character traits - confidence, perseverance, joy, self-discipline, appreciation of beauty.
Testimonials
It has been a great joy to train in Suzuki Early Childhood Education and offer these classes. Children aged 0-3 meet the world with wonder; they experience music as something magical, and it is contagious.
It is equally moving to witness the love and presence that parents and caregivers bring, both in our classes and in the shared listening and exploration of songs at home. These moments of connection between parent and child, and within the group, create an environment where we can celebrate each child as they grow in confidence, spirit, and skill.
I look forward to our time together each week.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much commitment is expected from the parent or
caregiver?
The parent plays a key role in creating a positive learning environment and helping with
home practice. For very young learners, parents learn the basics of the instrument
first, in order to serve as an example and be able to help the child at home. During
lessons, the parent is present, actively observing and taking notes. That makes this an
exciting learning process for both parents and children and creates an opportunity for
meaningful quality time together.
Parents encourage their children with each tiny step of progress they make and support
their child as they move along their musical path.
How much practice is needed?
Learning to play and master an instrument requires commitment. Student progress is
dependent on consistent and effective practice.
Daily practice typically lasts as long as the individual lesson. However, for young
children, practising lasts only as long as the child’s concentration span, which, in the
beginning, may only be a few minutes. With time, concentration gradually increases to
the full length of the lesson and beyond.
What about an instrument?
Please do not buy or rent an instrument without first consulting with me. Together we
will find a good quality instrument in a suitable size.
What age can my child begin lessons?
Formal violin lessons begin around the age of four. For children 0-3 I offer Early
Childhood Education classes. You and your child can already start observing other
children’s lessons and join in group activities beforehand. Please contact me for more
information. Following the parallel of learning a language, music education starts
from before birth. By exposing your child to as much music as possible through daily
listening, singing together, and going to concerts, they are already receiving musical
training.
